Customizing Member Welcome Emails

How to write the welcome email new members get, and turn it on or off.

A member welcome email is the email a fan gets right after they join. You set the content per tier, and you control whether the emails send from your community settings.

Write your member welcome emails

You set the content when you create or edit a tier, so each tier can have its own.

  1. In Single, open your community and go to Tiers.

  2. Open the tier you want to edit.

  3. Under Welcome Notifications, customize:

    • Email Subject. The subject line of the welcome email.

    • Header. The heading at the top of the message.

    • Message. The body text.

    • Login Button Label and Activate Account Button Label. The button text members see.

    • Custom Landing Page After Login. A URL to send members to after they log in, instead of your default community page.

Leave any field blank to use the default messaging, which pulls from your tier description so members get a simple confirmation of what they joined.

Turn member welcome emails on or off

The content lives at the tier level, but whether the email actually sends is a single switch for your whole community.

  1. Go to Community → Settings.

  2. Under Welcome email, choose:

    • Send Welcome Emails. New members get a welcome email when they sign up.

    • No Welcome Emails. Members don't get a welcome email.

  3. Click Save Settings.

Common questions

Where do I edit what the welcome email says?

Per tier, under Tiers → Welcome Notifications. The community settings toggle only turns the emails on or off; it doesn't hold the content.

I turned emails on but members aren't getting them. Why?

Check both places: Send Welcome Emails is selected in Community → Settings, and the tier has welcome notification content set under Tiers → Welcome Notifications.
