Managing Post Comments

How to turn comments on or off and manage them on your posts.

Comments let members talk with you and each other on a post. You control which posts allow comments, and you can manage individual comments after they're posted.

Turn comments on or off

When you create or edit a post, use the Allow Comments toggle:

  • On. Members can leave comments on the post.

  • Off. Comments are closed for that post.

Note: Members need access to a post to see or leave comments on it. Verified artists and moderators can comment on any post, whether or not they hold a membership.

Badges on comments

A check badge next to a name marks who's official:

  • Verified Artist (blue) — the artist, verified through their author profile.

  • Team (green) — a moderator.

Fans have no badge. Someone who is both shows Verified Artist. Set these up in Verify the Artist in Your Community and Add and Manage Moderators.

Comment notifications

A post's author is emailed when someone comments on it, and a fan is emailed when someone replies to their comment. Both are on by default, and fans can turn them off under My Account → Email Preferences on your store.

Manage existing comments

You can manage a comment in two places.

On your store:

  1. Go to the post on your store.

  2. Find the comment.

  3. Click the ... menu next to it and select Archive.

In Single:

  1. Open the post in Single.

  2. Scroll to the comments section.

  3. Find the comment and click Archive next to it.

Note: Archiving doesn't delete a comment. It hides the commenter's name and text and marks it as removed.

Moderators can archive comments from your store without needing access to Single.
