Set Up a Community Presale

How to start selling your community before its launch date.

Your community publishes to your Shopify store on the launch date you set. A presale lets you start selling before that date, so fans can lock in their spot early.

How to this this up

  • Log into Single

  • Click Community > Create

  • Set your Launch Date (ET) and Launch Time (ET).

  • Open Advanced Options.

  • Set a Presale Date (ET) and Presale Time (ET) earlier than your launch to begin selling before launch.

  • Click Save and Continue.

How presales work

  • Fans who buy during the presale are charged right away. That counts as their first term's payment.

  • Your presale can run as long as you want.

  • On launch day, presale fans aren't charged again, since they already paid for their first term.

How perks work during a presale

Different perks behave differently before launch:

  • Gated access (products, videos, posts) is available to fans right away.

  • Automated product perks aren't delivered during the presale. The first order is created after launch, on the fan's first renewal date. Presale fans aren't billed again for these, since they prepaid their first term.

Tell fans what to expect

Make sure fans understand what happens when they buy during a presale. We recommend adding a note to the tier's Shopify product page that covers when payment is processed and when products ship.

Example: This community is in presale until August 1st. Guarantee your spot and prepay for your first month today. Your first payment is processed right away, and product delivery begins on August 1st. Your next delivery and payment happen on September 1st.
