Sell a digital album and a membership together, so fans who buy the album join your community, and fans who join your community get the album.
How it works
You'll set up two versions of the album in Shopify:
Product 1, the album fans buy. It's listed in your store and bundled with the membership. Fans who buy it join the community.
Product 2, the signup album. It's unlisted in your store and given to new members as a perk. Fans who join the community get it.
What you'll need
A one-time payment membership tier, priced the same as the album. See Create a One-Time Payment Membership.
Both album products created in Shopify, with Product 2 set to unlisted, and the same release in Single attached to each. See Selling a Digital Release as a standalone product in Shopify.
Step 1: Bundle Product 1 with the membership
In Single, go to Community, then Manage, and open your community.
Click the Tiers tab and open your one-time tier.
Under Premium Tier Terms, open the One Time Purchase term. Check that its price matches the album's price.
Choose Specific Products, click Attach, and select Product 1.
Click Save.
Step 2: Add Product 2 as a signup perk
Click the Perks tab.
Under Scheduled Product Shipments, click Add Product Perk.
Set Delivery Trigger to At Sign Up.
Under Select Product, choose Product 2.
Click Save.
For more on perks, see Create Automated Product Perks.
What fans get
A fan who buys the album on its product page gets the album and joins the community.
A fan who joins on the community page gets the album with their membership.
Common questions
Can I change the price later?
You can only edit the price before you publish the membership.
When do fans get the album?
Single delivers the album on the release dates you set for each track, so fans get access on those days.
What happens if I archive the tier?
Archiving cancels every member on it immediately, so don't archive it after fans have joined.
