Single Communities depend on a few key Shopify settings. These must be enabled for fans to log in, check out, and purchase memberships successfully. Use the checklist below to ensure your Shopify store is configured correctly before creating premium tiers.
1. Enable a Payment Gateway
Paid memberships require an active payment processor.
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings β Payments.
Enable Shopify Payments, PayPal, or another supported provider.
Confirm the gateway is active before adding any premium tiers.
2. Configure Customer Accounts
Fans must be able to log in to access their community perks and content.
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings β Customer Accounts.
Select New Customer Accounts.
Save your changes.
Note: Single does not support Classic (legacy) accounts.
3. Enable Membership Checkout Validation
This ensures only logged-in, verified customers can complete membership purchases.
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings β Checkout Rules.
Enable Membership Checkout Validation.
Once these settings are in place, youβre ready to start building your Community in the Single app.
