Single communities rely on a few Shopify settings. These need to be on so fans can log in, check out, and buy memberships. Run through this checklist before you create paid tiers.
Enable a payment gateway
Paid memberships need an active payment processor.
In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Payments.
Enable Shopify Payments, PayPal, or another supported provider.
Confirm the gateway is active before adding any paid tiers.
Set up customer accounts
Fans need to log in to access their perks and content.
In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Customer Accounts.
Select New Customer Accounts.
Save your changes.
Note: Single does not support Classic (legacy) accounts.
Enable membership checkout validation
This makes sure only logged-in, verified customers can complete a membership purchase.
In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Checkout Rules.
Enable Membership Checkout Validation.
