Set Up Physical Album Reporting

How to Report Your Physical Music Sales to Luminate / Billboard Using Shopify and Single

Updated over a month ago

How it works

  • After installing Single, you must "tag" physical music products for reporting

  • Past Albums: If you tag an album for reporting after release week, we pull in unfulfilled sales. Once those orders ship, they will report. Sales fulfilled prior to the current week are not eligible

  • Presale / Current Albums: Albums tagged for reporting during their presale period or within week 1 will have existing sales picked up by our system. Sales will be reported as they are shipped.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Music > Chart Reporting from the left sidebar.

  2. Click + Tag Physical Release in the top right corner

  3. Search for the product / album in your Shopify inventory you want to report.

  4. Enter some basic information:

    • Format

    • UPC/EAN

    • Artist

    • Track Count

    • Is this a Fan Pack?

      • Not a Fan Pack: This is a standalone album product and is NOT the same product used in a fan pack

      • Fan Pack Bundle: This product is a fan pack created via Shopify Bundles or a similar app

    • Release Date

    • Click Submit for Reporting.

FAQs

I want to report Fan Packs, how do I get started?

Reporting Fan Packs requires prior approval from Luminate with at least seven days prior to street date.

Is there a limit to how many copies per album I can report for a single customer?

A maximum of 4 copies per UPC, per customer, per week, are reported, regardless of additional purchases. Any purchases of 10+ albums will result in 0 reportable sales. Visit Luminate's help center for more information here.

What if there's a delay in shipping my orders due to external factors?

Delays, particularly from third-party fulfillment providers, are outside Single's responsibility. Stay updated with your provider to manage and resolve any issues.
