How it works
In the app this release type is called Instant Grat Tracks (you may also hear "pre-release tracks"). It delivers digital tracks to fans as each track is released — for example, with a vinyl or CD pre-order — while the physical sale continues to chart-report as a physical unit.
⚠️ Already tagged this product in Chart Reporting? That's the most common snag. A product can't hold a physical reporting tag and a digital attachment at the same time, so the app will ask you to remove the chart reporting tag before attaching the grat tracks. That's expected — you set the reporting type inside the attachment (step 7 below), and that replaces the tag. Don't try to re-tag the product afterward — it will show as unavailable because it's attached to a digital release. Your sold & reported totals still appear in the Chart Reporting section.
Step-by-step instructions
Go to Music > Digital Delivery from the left sidebar.
Click + Create Digital Release and choose Pre-Release Tracks.
Fill in the details of your release and set the release date to match your physical album's release date.
Add your audio files and specify individual release dates for each track.
Click Review for Sale then Ready to Publish then Attach to Existing Products.
Search for the products you want to bundle with the tracks, then input the following information for each attachment:
Enable Deliver to existing orders.
Disable Managed fulfillment. ⚠️ This step matters: if Managed fulfillment stays on, Single will close fulfillment on the order when the tracks deliver — and your warehouse or 3PL won't be able to ship the physical item. Always disable it on items you ship yourself.
Set the Reporting type to your physical album. This means the sale reports as a physical unit when the order ships. Delivery of the grat tracks has no effect on reporting — only shipment of the physical item does.
Click Create Attachments.
Now, customers who pre-order your physical album will receive the pre-release tracks on the dates you set.
