Adding the Tracklist block to your product page

How to add Single's Tracklist app block to your Shopify product pages — so fans can preview tracks right on the page before they buy.

The Tracklist block is a Single-built app block for Shopify that adds a tracklist with preview playback to your product pages. Fans get a 30-second preview of each track right on the page — an easy way to let visitors hear what they're about to buy.

Before you start

How to add the Tracklist block

  1. Open your Shopify admin → Online StoreThemes

  2. Click Customize on your live theme

  3. In the top dropdown, switch to Products → Default product

  4. In the left sidebar, click Add block under the product information section

  5. Under Apps, select Single: Tracklist

  6. Drag it to where you want it on the page (most artists place it just below the product description)

  7. Click Save

The block will automatically pull the tracklist from the digital release tagged to that product.

What fans will see

  • The full tracklist with track titles and durations

  • A play button on each track for a 30-second preview (if enabled)

Customizing the block

Click the block in the theme editor to see all the customization options. A few things worth knowing:

  • Single Release ID — leave this blank. The block auto-populates from the digital release attached to the product or variant. Only fill it in if you need to override.

  • Display visibility — controls whether the block shows to all visitors, only logged-in fans with access, or only those without access. Heads up: the block always shows in the Theme Editor regardless of this setting — preview your live theme to test customer visibility.

  • Tracklist & Player toggles — show/hide the player, track length, elapsed time, artwork, and countdown.

  • Layout — spacing, padding, and border controls.

  • Colors — match your theme by default, or override individual colors.

Common gotchas

  • The block is on the wrong template. Make sure you added it to the Default product template, not a custom one.

  • Theme doesn't support app blocks. If you're on a Vintage theme (pre-Online Store 2.0), you'll need to switch to a 2.0 theme or manually embed the block via theme code.

What's next

Once your Tracklist block is live, the next step is to enable Single on your checkout pages so fans can start listening the moment they complete purchase — no waiting on the email.

You'll enable it on two pages:

  • Thank you page

  • Order status page

See Enable Single on Shopify Checkout for the step-by-step.
