Memberships: Buy Buttons

How to swap in Single's buy buttons so members can purchase your gated products.

When you gate a product behind a membership, fans need Single's buy button to purchase it. Shopify's default button can block members from checking out, even when they have access, so you'll swap it for Single's on your product page.

Note: This applies to Shopify 2.0 stores with app blocks. If your theme is still on Shopify 1.0, we recommend upgrading.

Add it from Single

Single can do this for you. When you gate a product, a module pops up prompting you to add the buy buttons. Just click Add to Theme when it appears.

Or set it up yourself from settings:

  1. In Single, go to Settings → Notifications.

  2. Under Checkout & Post-Purchase Blocks, find Single Buy Buttons.

  3. Click Add to Theme. This opens your theme editor and adds Single's buy button.

  4. Position the block where you want it on the page.

  5. Delete Shopify's standard Buy Buttons section.

  6. Click Save.

Add it manually in Shopify

If it won't add from Single, you can do it in your Shopify theme editor:

  1. Log into your Shopify store.

  2. Open the theme editor: click Online Store under your sales channels, then Customize.

  3. At the top, click the dropdown and choose Products, then Default product to load that template.

  4. In the left rail, click Add section.

  5. Go to the Apps section and add the Memberships: Buy Buttons app block.

  6. Position it where you want it on the page.

  7. Delete Shopify's standard Buy Buttons section.

  8. Click Save.

Got multiple product templates? If you've created product templates beyond the default, repeat this on each one.
