Set a Release Time Zone for DistroLink Releases

Make releases from your distributor go live at midnight in your store's own time zone.

Releases from your distributor normally go live at midnight US Eastern. If your store sells mainly outside the US, you can set a release time zone so DistroLink releases go live at midnight where your fans are instead. Set it once and every release delivered after that follows it.

Set your release time zone

  1. In Single, go to Music → Digital Delivery → DistroLink and click Settings.

  2. Under Release Time Zone, start typing a city or region (for example, Sydney or London) and pick your time zone.

  3. Check the preview under the field. It shows when a release would go live with the zone you picked.

  4. Click Save.

Note: The time zone applies to releases your distributor delivers after you save. Releases already in Single keep their dates until your distributor sends them again.

What changes

For every release delivered after you save, these dates move to midnight in your time zone:

  • the release date

  • the pre-order date

  • the dates your track titles and artwork become visible

Daylight saving is handled for you. Releases on either side of a clock change still go live at local midnight.

How dates look in Single

Single shows release times in US Eastern, so a local midnight can look like a different day. For example, with Australia/Sydney set, a release dated November 20 goes live at midnight on November 20 in Sydney. In Single that shows as Nov 19, 2026, 8:00 AM. That's correct, so there's no need to change it before you publish.

Change or remove your time zone

  • To change it, pick a different time zone and click Save.

  • To remove it, click Clear. Releases go back to going live at midnight US Eastern, using the dates your distributor sends.

Either way, only releases delivered after the change are affected. Under the field, Last changed by shows who made the most recent change.

Common questions

Do I need to set a time zone?

No. If you don't set one, nothing changes: releases go live at midnight US Eastern, the same as before.

I set a time zone, but an existing release still has its old date.

The time zone only applies to new deliveries. Ask your distributor to send the release again and the new date will apply, even if the release is already published.

Do I need to fix the dates before I publish?

No. Review the release as usual and publish. The dates are already set for your time zone.

Does this affect releases I upload myself?

No. It only applies to releases delivered through DistroLink.

Who can change the time zone?

Team members who can edit Digital releases on your store. People with view-only access can't open DistroLink Settings.

I don't see Release Time Zone.

Release Time Zone is only available on stores with DistroLink turned on. If DistroLink is active and you still don't see it, contact support.
