Sell Music on Shopify Through Your Distributor

Use DistroLink to send releases from your distributor straight to your Shopify store.

Your distributor is already sending your music to Spotify, Apple Music, and the rest. DistroLink adds your Shopify store to that list so you don't have to upload the same files twice. Follow the steps below to turn DistroLink on for your store.

Note: If you're a Distributor or Label looking to set up your own DDEX feed to Shopify, see our other guide.

Setup Guide

Step 1: Request access

In Single, go to Music → Digital Delivery → DistroLink and request access.

Step 2: Add your mapping

Once approved, open Settings and click Add Mapping. Enter:

  • Name — your distributor or label

  • ID type — ISNI, Proprietary, DPID, etc.

  • ID number — the corresponding value

You must provide at least one of name or ID. Providing both is recommended — it prevents false matches if you share a name with another artist.

Step 3: Wait for verification

Our team verifies your Party ID and activates your connection. You'll receive a notification when DistroLink is live on your account.

Step 4: Deliver music through your distributor

Once activated, deliver releases through your distributor as you normally would. No additional steps on your end. Releases will route to Single automatically.

Reviewing a delivered release

Once a release is delivered, it appears in Music → Digital Delivery. Each delivery displays one of three statuses:

Status

What it means

Fetching

Files are downloading from your distributor

Processing

Files are being parsed and mapped to your store

Complete

The release is staged as a Draft and ready for review

When the status is Complete, click View to open the Draft release.

What to review

Check the basics: Track titles, Artist name, Artwork, Track order, and Release date. You can manually add anything that didn't come through automatically—like lyrics, custom artwork variants, or digital liner notes.

How to publish

You can publish the release as:

  • A standalone digital product

  • A bundle with vinyl, CD, or merch

  • A pre-order with instant access

  • A gated release inside a fan club or community

Important: Releases stay as Drafts until you publish them.

FAQ

Which distributors does DistroLink support?

FUGA, Labelcamp, Redeye, and The Orchard. To request a new distributor, contact support.

Does DistroLink cost extra?

No. DistroLink is included with your Single subscription.

How long does setup take?

Verification takes a few business days. You'll be notified when your connection is active.

My distributor delivered, but I don't see the release in Single.

Check the following:

  • Connection status — confirm your DistroLink connection has been activated

  • Processing time — files take a few minutes to fetch and process after delivery

  • Delivery status — open Music → Digital Delivery and expand the delivery to view its current status

If the status looks correct and the release is still missing, your Party ID mapping may need to be updated. Contact support and we'll review the ingestion log.

Can I edit a delivered release?

Yes. All fields in the Draft are editable before publishing — titles, artwork, track order, release date, etc. For structural issues like an ISRC mismatch, fix the issue at your distributor as well so future deliveries come through correctly.

Can I use DistroLink alongside manual uploads?

Yes. Manual uploads will override DistroLink files if uploaded to the same release.

Does DistroLink affect chart reporting?

No. Chart reporting (Billboard, OCC, ARIA, FIMI) is based on Shopify sales data and is unaffected by file source.

I switched distributors. What happens to my DistroLink connection?

Contact support to update your connection. If your new distributor isn't currently supported, we'll work on adding them.

My distributor isn't supported yet. What can I do?

Contact support. We're actively onboarding new DDEX partners.
