Required Shopify Settings for Communities

Communities in Single rely on key Shopify settings to function properly. Without these configurations, fans won't be able to log in, check out, or pay for memberships.

Setup Checklist

1. Enable Payment Gateway

Paid memberships require a payment processor.

  1. In Shopify Admin, go to Settings β†’ Payments

  2. Enable Shopify Payments, PayPal, or another supported gateway

  3. Confirm the gateway is active before adding Premium tiers

2. Configure Customer Accounts

Communities require members to log in to access perks and content.

  1. In Shopify Admin, go to Settings β†’ Customer Accounts

  2. Select New Customer Accounts (not Classic)

  3. Save your changes

Note: Single does not support legacy accounts

3. Set Up Membership Checkout Validation

Ensures only verified, logged-in fans can sign up.

  1. In Shopify Admin, go to Settings β†’ Checkout Rules

  2. Enable the rule: "Membership Checkout Validation"


Once these steps are complete, you’re ready to create your Community in Single.
